What students are saying
“I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take some lessons with Gabriel. In addition to being an incredible guitarist and musician, he is a perceptive and diligent teacher. He possesses the ability to identify the gaps of knowledge a student is trying to overcome, and to establish effective lesson plans to address these. Throughout the process, Gabriel was patient and encouraging. With his guidance, I was able to improve both my playing and understanding of music theory to a degree that has provided a strong foundation to continue to develop and grow as a musician. If you get an opportunity to learn from him, I can't recommend it enough.”
- George Shunick, Manhattan, New York
“I’ve been playing guitar for almost 20 years and touring in indie bands most of my adult life, but eventually, I hit a wall with my musicianship that I couldn’t get past on my own. Gabriel really helped me take my guitar playing to the next level, filling out gaps in my understanding of the fretboard, unlocking new approaches to chord voicing, and acquiring a feeling for modes that’s changed the way I solo. I couldn’t recommend his teaching more strongly for players looking to develop the piecemeal knowledge of their instruments into a steadfast ground for confident performance and fluid improvisation.”
- Peter Bradley, Brooklyn, New York
“Tuve la suerte de viajar a Nueva York hace dos años con mi actual esposa (novia en aquel entonces) quien me regaló una clase de guitarra con Gabriel. Todavía sigo asimilando y capitalizando los contenidos de la clase, en 2 minutos entendió lo que yo necesitaba mejorar. Como profesor brillante y como persona espectacular. De las mejores experiencias que he tenido.”
- Joaquin Narbaiz, Buenos Aires, Argentina
“When I began my lessons with Vicéns, I was on a guitar plateau; he helped me use the knowledge I’ve acquired over the years to understand chord changes better, develop my ideas, and pursue my own voice on the guitar. As the lessons moved forward, I began to visualize complex harmony in the guitar in the simplest way possible; I expanded my harmonic colors and used them to develop my musical language.”
- Pierre Bou Salcedo, Houston, Texas
“Gabriel is a fantastic guitar teacher. In our lessons, we focus on fretboard mastery, voice leading, and jazz vocabulary. I am a very experienced jazz guitarist with over 30 years of playing and I’m still able to keep learning exciting and fresh new things.”
- John Sterling, Anchorage, Alaska
“Hay muchos maestros con muchas ganas de enseñar y dar lo mejor para no sólo mejorar a los estudiantes sino a ellos mismos. Pero son pocos los que pueden responder dudas en tiempo real con dominio y con herramientas reales. El tomar clases con Gabriel fue un excelente cambio y cualquier estudiante debería aprovechar esa oportunidad.”
- Alexis Fernandez, Bayamón, Puerto Rico
